气功的研习在中国有数千年的历史,气功之神奇功效及现象,使一些人感觉到它超乎知识领域,难以了解及接受,无可否认的事实,气功是宝贵的传统保健文化,是开发人类潜在能量的一种运动。

 

古老的气功保健文化能在现代社会生存及流行有它的原因,当人们设法从现代医学治疗中减轻或消除痛苦,很自然地会向中医或气功求助。

 

现代的社会疾病如空气污染,汽车黑烟,南极上空的臭氧层破洞,都有可能使地球上许多人致癌。病毒的传染,如各型肝病,流行性感冒等。

 

职业病,如教师容易得咽喉病,现代病,生活竞争激烈,怕输的精神压力,追求物质生活等。

 

 

只有提高自身免疫力,加强心身的锻炼,方能有效地消除这些压力。在传统的气功文化领域中,都把气功当成是修身养性的功夫。在气功发展上,不少气功文献可以证明这一点。

 

气功在各种各样的锻炼法,一种是以任督二脉之说,以人体前有任脉,人体后有督脉,气体在任督二脉前降后升,打通任督二脉,便可以进一步打通全部奇经八脉至十二经脉,因而打通任督二脉是提高功夫的根本途径。

另一些锻炼法以中脉为中心,中脉位于人脑的正中至会阴部,修炼中脉是根本的锻炼法。也有以意念,意守,观想为主的锻炼法等。

 

 

谢里传授的气功以自然锻炼为主,以调姿的方法激发体内的能量,称之为气。

到底气是怎么一回事,目前缺少科学的引证。可是经过有系统的锻炼,大部份的学员都感受到如磁的一种能量的存在性。

 

从传功及治疗的经验中探讨,气的能量可能对病态的细胞产生活化的作用。

气也能提高免疫力,能消除微循环障碍,同时能对深层的组织和内脏起良和的作用。

事实证明发放外气能使毛细血管扩张,使人进入松懈状态,对大脑神经,心血系统起调节的作用,气也能对腹腔产生按摩作用,且能迅速补充消耗的能量。

 

我国有许多门派传授不同功法,这是好的,把气功运动展开起来,让人民从锻炼中得到好处,但要把握正确的理论,要了解功法内容,要有信心,施之以恒,这样可达到良好的效果。

 

在现实生活中群众已把锻炼气功当成是一种保健运动,而慢慢地气功将发展为一种辅助治疗医学,正确的推广方法,将使无数的人民受益。

气功的探索

  Qigong is part of the Chinese culture. It is an exercise that activates the potential energy (“QI”) in the human body. The study and practice of Qigong in China has a history of few thousand years. Its miraculous healing effect and strange phenomena after application of Qi have reached a state beyond rational intelligence so much so that is difficult to acknowledge its existence.
 
  There are many reasons why Qigong, an ancient form of keep-fit exercise could survive to the present day and become a popular exercise. One of the reasons is that when people could not get relief of sufferings and pain through modern medicine, it is natural for them to turn to traditional healing or Qigong for help.
 
  In today’s environment, we are subject to a plague of air pollution such as black smoke emitted from vehicles. Air pollution and the effect of the damage to the ozone layer may give rise to cancerous diseases. Virus infections such as hepatitis and influenza have caused concern to the health conscious public. Occupational disease such as throat cancer among the teaching profession, modern illness resulted from fierce competition, mental stress caused by endless pursuit of material indulgence in life, threatens the well being of our people.
 
  One effective way of relieving our sufferings and mental pressure is to increase our immunity ability through training of body and mind. In the Chinese traditional culture, the practice of Qigong is always regarded as a way of self-cultivation for a person to become a better man both physically and mentally. From some of the Chinese literature on Qigong we will be able to substantiate such observation.
 
  There are many ways of training of Qigong. One way is to activate the “Qi” to stimulate the front and the back middle channels (I.e. the conduits through which the “Qi” flows) so that the “Qi” would descend in the front and ascend at the back going through the two channels. Through such practice, the “Qi” could eventually push through the eight extra channels and the twelve regular channels of  “Qi”. Therefore, the practice of stimulating the front and the back middle channels is the fundamental training to elevate the effectiveness of this form of exercise.
 
  There are others which include concentrating training on the central channel which runs through the middle of the head to the joining point of the bottom front and back orifices; focusing of thought to move through path of “Qi”; and observing through mind’s eyes in meditation.
 
  The method I adopt in teaching Qigong is different in that I emphasize the natural way of training. It is to activate the “Qi” through regulating the postures.
How does this exercise work? At the moment, we do not have adequate scientific evidence to explain. However through systematic training, most students could feel that there is a certain kind of magnetic energy inside the body.
 
  From my experience in teaching Qigong and healing of illness through the application of “Qi”, I believe “Qi” could activate abnormal cells and bring it back to normal function. “Qi” strengthens body immunity system, removes circulation blockage, acts on the inner tissue and improves the function of internal organs.
 
  It is proven fact that “Qi” or the internal energy when transmitted onto a person it could expand the blood capillary, regulate the central nerve and cardiac systems thus enabling him to enter a state of tranquility and relaxation. “Qi” could also stimulate the abdominal cavity giving an effect of massaging of the relevant area. It could rapidly replenish the worn off energy.
 
  There are various groups in the teaching of different methods of Qigong in Singapore. This is good as it promotes the practice of Qigong benefiting the general public. But, it is important to acquire to correct theory, understand the content of the exercise, build up the confidence and practice regularly to achieve the best result.
 
  It is way of life now for the masses to take up the practice of Qigong as a keep fit exercise. Gradually Qigong will become a supplement to medical care. When Qigong is promoted in the right manner, it will benefit the population at large.
